Madams & Sirs Potluck and Program

At Madams & Sirs Mark and Marla Suckow will present a program on their trip to the Dominican Republic.  Last March they visited their foreign exchange student/daughter, Dilenia and her family.  Madams & Sirs and others contributed toward school supplies that were delivered by Mark and Marla to Dilenia’s former elementary school.

All are invited to come.  Just bring a dish to pass and your table setting.  The Potluck begins sharply at 6:00 p.m.

Ongoing Activities/History

We are a social and service club within the church that welcomes guests and new members to all our events.  The first Wednesday of each month we enjoy wonderful potluck dinners followed by varied and interesting programs.  Our meetings begin at 6 P.M. and end about 8 P.M.  Everyone brings a dish to pass and their own table service.  Two or more people are hosts for the evening.  They make coffee, set tables, provide rolls or bread, and take care of the clean up.  Thank you to all who were hosts this past year.

We had another successful year at Fleazaar, our biggest money making event of the year.

From our 2007 Annual Report:

We had some interesting meetings in 2007.  January is our time each year to take down Christmas decorations.  Audrey Winchell and her staff have it so organized that it doesn’t take long to get the job done.  In February Dennis Lipp told us about Camp Jorn and what their needs were.  In March we heard about the interesting places a retired Missionary, Dick Wechter, had lived.  Our very own Roger Becklund told us about his life as a surgeon, including slides, in May.  June, July and August are taken up with Fleazaar business.  We had a very successful Fleazaar with the help from the congregation and friends of the church.   Mid Sharpe and her crew made lunch for the workers on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday which was greatly appreciated.  Our chairman, Ken Eales, did a great job.  You can see from the treasurer’s report the money we took in at Fleazaar and all the projects we gave money to.

In September Irv Rueger told about the very real crisis concerning the lack of honey bees.  We even tasted different varieties of honey.  October was youth month.  The Youth told us about their canoe trip to Quetico Provincial Park in Canada.   Our guest in November was Betty Watkins who told us about their trip to Mexico for the Lion’s Club.  They took and fitted glasses for the less fortunate people in Mexico.  Then in December Margo and Bill Perkins showed slides of their Alaska trip and Margo also told about the full life women can lead after breast cancer.
