Directions to Fleazaar   More information about our church

During the past holiday season we were asked to donate for those less fortunate and it made me think of what Fleazaar means to our community.  I felt we need to be reminded of what our giving means when we donate a slightly used table or dresser.

Remember these things; The young mother who cried when she bought a bed for $5.00 and the barn crew added an end table in the price.  The man who filled several bags of linens and then remembered he had come on his bike (someone from church helped him get home with his precious goods).  The young woman who found a dresser for $3.00 and told someone she had never had a place to put her clothes.  The college student who needed a desk and found one for $7.00.  And the list could go on and on.

Those of you who work at Fleazaar could relate many similar stories and that is what keeps us going year after year.  It is the smiles we see when someone gets what they are looking for and the smiles we feel at what we are doing.

WE WELCOME AND APPRECIATIONS YOUR FLEAZAAR DONATIONS, HOWEVER, THE FOLLOWING ITEMS WE ARE NOT ABLE TO ACCEPT.

ITEMS NOT ACCEPTED WILL BE REFUSED. THE COST TO DISPOSE NON-SALABLE ITEMS DECREASES THE FUNDS AVAILABLE FOR CHARITIES. WE DO GREATLY APPRECIATE YOUR DONATIONS AND COOPERATION.

MANITOWISH WATERS COMMUNITY PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH – FLEAZAAR COMMITTEE

FLEAZAAR WRAP-UP

On behalf of the entire committee and the countless people and organizations that benefit from your efforts THANK YOU ONE and ALL!  This year’s event was one of the more challenging in recent memory due to extreme weather conditions.  Once again the members of our church family and our extended family exceeded our wildest expectations.  You all deserve medals for persevering under grueling circumstances.

I am proud to announce that this year’s outside sales were $28, 307.  Guild sales were $11,180 and food sales were $2,039 for a grand total of $42,176 (before expenses).  There are several items left to be sold which can only add to this total or carry over to next year.

Fleazaar 2011 Requiem

The moon had just set

when folks rush to get

a place at the head of the line

and by 6 AM, there were hundreds of them

with our coffee most seemed just fine

But, some had eyes red

like the Dawn of the Dead

early morn or just buying lust?

the tension was there

it would curl your hair

like the wind it came in a gust

With the peal of the bell

like the Hounds of H_ _ _

they rushed in for that perfect thing

it was search for the table

a lamp or a ladle

some dishes and or a decoder ring

A bike for the road a

a ceramic lawn toad

some skis that were

“just made for you”

some art for the wall

an old leather ball

a chainsaw and file or two

“Popeils” veggie cutter

Arnold Palmer’s great putter

some cutlery, a pan or a pot

top grade stereo, a record or two

an anchor for your new yatch

Don’t forget the wood clamps

that are older than Gramps

toys and games an old croquet set

and baked goods and flowers

you could spend hours

the savings weren’t over yet.

Need a sofa or table

our workers were able

to find one that fit

all your needs

a mower a blower, hoe or rake

something to wack down your weeds

If a great plastic bowl

was your primary goal

we had them stacked by the score

suitcase or pack to wear on your back

and a trap to catch your favorite mole

It was not my intention

but I must mention

the heat that was melting us down

90 plus in the sun was not too much fun

puddle people littered the ground

That’s really not true

with our excellent crew

assistance was always there

at the first sign of trouble

they were there on the double

with liquids or medical care.

The Fleazaar is done

were you there for the fun?

like a wheel it’ll come round next year

The “treasures” were sold

some new and some old

we hope that we’ll see you here.

The Manitowish Waters Community Presbyterian Church "Madams and Sirs" have presented a one day sale of goods donated by the community for the last 20 years. The sale is open from 7am to 2pm, and raises up to $30,000 that the church uses for missions and community projects. The success of our sale is due to the generous donations from the community, hard work from the Church's members and friends, and eager crowds of bargain hunters, lining up early, and continuing through the day. There are auctions of large items, frequently boats and cars. Please join us and find your treasure.
